Acceptance of terms
By using Ext Decoder (the "Service"), you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.
What the Service is
Ext Decoder is a free, browser-based reference tool that provides general information about file extensions — commonly associated file formats, software, platforms, and general safety guidance. It runs entirely client-side and does not process, store, or inspect any actual file content.
No safety or accuracy guarantee
Information provided by the Service is for general reference only and is based on common, typical usage of a given extension. A file extension is chosen by whoever created the file and is never proof of that file's real, actual content. The Service cannot and does not verify the contents of any specific file, and cannot tell you whether a particular file is safe or malicious. You are solely responsible for how you handle any file, including using appropriate antivirus/security tools and exercising judgment about the file's source.
No liability
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to accuracy, completeness, or fitness for a particular purpose. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Gouse Labs and the Service's operator are not liable for any damages arising from your use of, or reliance on, the Service or any information it provides.
Third-party names
Software and company names mentioned (e.g. Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft Word) are trademarks of their respective owners and are referenced solely for descriptive, informational purposes. The Service is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any software vendor mentioned.
Acceptable use
Don't attempt to disrupt, scrape excessively, reverse-engineer for malicious purposes, or use the Service in any way that violates applicable law.
Changes
These terms may be updated from time to time; the "last updated" date above reflects the latest revision. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
